The ECOREG Institute is a non-profit organization committed to protecting nature and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources. Through research, cooperation, and community involvement, we work to strengthen environmental awareness and support science-based solutions that benefit both ecosystems and people.
Operating throughout Albania and in collaboration with international partners, ECOREG advances biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Our goal is to connect knowledge, policy, and practical action to ensure a balanced relationship between human activity and the natural environment.
What We Do
ECOREG Institute works to protect ecosystems and promote sustainable environmental governance through science and collaboration.
Research & Environmental Assessment
We conduct interdisciplinary research to better understand ecosystems, biodiversity, and the impacts of climate and human activity. Our work generates scientific evidence that supports sustainable land use, conservation planning, and informed environmental decision-making.
Ecosystem Restoration & Nature-Based Solutions
ECOREG develops and implements practical solutions to restore degraded ecosystems, protect natural resources, and enhance ecological resilience. We promote nature-based approaches that balance environmental protection with community needs and long-term sustainability.
Policy, Governance & Capacity Building
We work at the intersection of science and policy, supporting institutions, local authorities, and stakeholders in developing effective environmental governance. Through training, collaboration, and knowledge exchange, we strengthen capacities for responsible ecosystem management.
